Harish Rao raises questions on power cuts

Metro India News | Hyderabad : Hyderabad: Former Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Deputy Floor Leader T. Harish Rao on Sunday conducted a surprise inspection at the Motakondur electricity sub-station in Yadadri Bhongir district, following widespread complaints from local farmers regarding undeclared power cuts.

Addressing the media at the sub-station, Harish Rao alleged that department personnel had intentionally removed the official log book prior to his arrival to conceal the actual power supply logs. He questioned why the state government hesitated to make the log book public if 24-hour uninterrupted power was indeed being supplied to the agriculture sector.

"Log books record crucial operational data, including the duration of three-phase supply, tripping instances, and actual supply hours. Farmers in Motakondur report receiving barely six to seven hours of power daily, resulting in crop damage. We arrived to inspect the ground reality, only to find the records missing," Harish Rao said.

The BRS deputy floor leader targeted local Congress MLA Beerla Ilaiah and Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, urging them to visit the field and address the farmers' grievances directly.

Harish Rao further accused the Congress administration of employing "diversion politics" to avoid accountability on agricultural power supply, the Section 22-A prohibited lands list, and alleged land irregularities. He noted that all asset disclosures regarding his family are already part of public record through official election affidavits and income tax filings.
