In a strong critique of the Congress government's two-year term, former Minister and BRS MLA T. Harish Rao alleged on Monday that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has been operating a government reminiscent of a private enterprise, characterized by failing governance, rampant corruption and unfulfilled commitments.

Describing the last two years as a period of hardship for the citizens of Telangana, Harish Rao remarked that the government had not only failed to deliver on its promises but also neglected to follow through on the initiatives introduced by the BRS government. Speaking to the media at Telangana Bhavan, Harish Rao alleged that the Congress government was full of grand promises but lacking in tangible results.

The former minister expressed concern, stating that the situation in Telangana appeared to be worsening if the past two years are any indication. He contrasted the current administration with the early years of the BRS, noting that those initial two years resulted in significant initiatives such as 24-hour electricity, Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya, improved pensions, Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak, enhanced food security, modernized agriculture, TS-iPASS reforms, SHE Teams, and the elevation of Hyderabad as a hub for investment.

The BRS MLA attributed the stagnation of Hyderabad’s growth and the erosion of investor confidence to the government's hasty and immature decisions, such as the cancellation of the Metro Rail extension and the abandonment of Pharma City. He commented that there was a lack of clarity regarding significant initiatives like Maha Lakshmi and alleged that bills were being approved only after bribes were exchanged.

He also pointed out that Praja Bhavan has turned into a venue for private events instead of serving the publicHe noted that Ministers had unofficially imposed fixed fees for building permits, layout conversions, contract payments, and land-use approvals, among other things. Harish Rao criticised the Congress government, referring to it as ‘Scamgress’, and outlined various purported scams such as the Musi Riverfront land scam, land encroachments at HCU and manipulations of the HILT policy.
