Ponnamalla Narendar, a 52-year-old Head Constable at Cheriyal Police Station, Siddipet, has left a lasting legacy by saving four lives even after his tragic death. On December 26, Narendar was riding his two-wheeler in Gurujakunta, Siddipet, when he accidentally collided with a stray dog. He was rushed to a private hospital in Hyderabad, where, despite emergency treatment, he was declared brain dead on December 29 at 3:58 p.m.
In a remarkable act of courage and compassion, Narendar’s wife, Ponnamalla Rukhmini, made the heartfelt decision to donate his organs. Two kidneys, one liver, and his heart were successfully transplanted to four patients in need, giving them a new lease on life. This noble decision has not only saved lives but also set an inspiring example of selflessness for the community.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar praised Narendar, stating, “A police officer is a friend to those in distress, and Narendar proved it even in death.” Jeevandan Telangana expressed profound gratitude to the family for their generosity and courage. The organization reiterated its commitment to raising awareness about organ donation and facilitating life-saving transplants across the state.
Even in the face of personal tragedy, Narendar’s family chose to think of society, turning grief into hope for others. His legacy now lives on through the lives he saved, reminding everyone that courage, duty, and compassion extend far beyond one’s lifetime.
