Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Narcotic Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) organized a coordination meeting with registered rehabilitation centres across the city, aiming to strengthen efforts against drug abuse and provide timely support to affected youth. The meeting was held at the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, H-NEW, on Tuesday and attended by representatives from leading de-addiction centres including Wisdom Society, New Hope Association, DARE Rehabilitation, Asha De-addiction & Rehabilitation, Vennela De-addiction, Ravi Neuro Psychiatry, Nest Rehabs, Living Sober, and Saber Steps.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Task Force/H-NEW, Vaibhav Gaikwad, IPS, urged the centres to conduct structured counselling sessions for individuals referred by H-NEW and adopt a collaborative approach for those apprehended during enforcement operations. He emphasized that rehabilitation is crucial in building drug-free communities and called for proactive efforts to restore the lives of students and young citizens affected by addiction.
Officials including G.S. Daniel, S. Bala Swamy, and SIs C. Venkata Ramulu and B. Manoj Kumar were present. Representatives of the rehabilitation institutions assured full cooperation in extending professional counselling and psychological support to drug users.
