Hyderabad City Police Commissioner C V Anand chaired a coordination meeting at the Old Police Commissioner’s Office, Basheer Bagh, to ensure a peaceful and clean Bakrid celebration.
Key measures discussed included curbing illegal animal transportation by setting up check posts around the city to prevent movement without proper veterinary certification. Vehicles violating rules will be seized and sent to designated holding points. The Commissioner urged the public not to take the law into their own hands.
The Animal Husbandry Department and GHMC were instructed to ensure 24x7 veterinary services at check posts. GHMC will deploy dog-catching squads, provide disposal covers for households, and arrange special teams for garbage and carcass collection. Adequate vehicles and staff will be mobilized for efficient waste disposal.
The Electricity and Engineering departments will ensure uninterrupted power and water supply, while RTA officials will provide sufficient drivers, mechanics, and cranes.
Commissioner Anand emphasized forming local, zonal, and commissionerate-level coordination teams for better response. He assured that proactive collaboration among departments would ensure a safe and smooth Bakrid celebration for all citizens.
Senior officials from various departments, including GHMC, Animal Husbandry, RTA, and Electricity & Engineering, attended the meeting on Thursday.
