The Hyderabad Food Adulteration Surveillance Team (H-FAST) of the Task Force, along with Kulsumpura Police, raided an illegal food manufacturing unit at H.No. 13-4-582/A/B/30, opposite SBA Garden, Jiyaguda, on Saturday around 6 pm. The unit, run by 73-year-old Abdul Rasheed, was operating without FSSAI license, trade license, or fire clearance.

Authorities seized materials worth approximately ₹5 lakh, including 500 spoiled boiled eggs, 5 kg reused cooking oil, 1,950 prepared samosas (egg, sweet corn, onion), 50 kg maida, 4 bags of salt, 2,000 samosa pattis, 10 kg unhygienic sweet corn, and cooking machinery such as fryers and onion cutting machines. Abdul Rasheed was apprehended on the spot.

The raid was led by Inspector Venkatesh along with H-FAST personnel, Kulsumpura police, and the Food Safety Officer. The team said the operation was based on credible information and aimed to stop large-scale production of unhygienic food items that could endanger public health.

Authorities emphasized that such raids are part of Hyderabad City Police’s continuous efforts to curb illegal food manufacturing. Citizens are urged to report unlawful food practices to prevent unsafe products from reaching the market and to protect public health.
