Metro India News | Hyderabad

In a crackdown on unauthorized water usage, officials of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board seized seven illegal electric motors in Ramanthapur on Monday. The vigilance team conducted inspections during water supply hours in Endowment Colony under Uppal Zone, O&M Division No. 4, and found motors directly attached to main pipelines to draw water illegally.

Authorities warned that consumers installing such motors on household taps violate water board regulations. Offenders will face strict action, including seizure of equipment. Repeat violations will attract a fine of Rs 5,000 along with legal cases.

The department urged residents not to tamper with pipelines or use motors to increase water pressure unfairly, as it affects equitable distribution.

Officials advised that in case of low water pressure or supply issues, consumers should contact their local manager, Deputy General Manager, or General Manager. Complaints can also be registered through the customer care helpline 155313, assuring prompt resolution of grievances.
