India’s agricultural and processed food sector took centre stage at the 2026 Summer Fancy Food Show in New York, with more than 70 Indian exhibitors showcasing a diverse range of products aimed at expanding the country’s footprint in the lucrative US market.

Held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, the exhibition marked India’s largest-ever participation at North America’s premier speciality food trade event. Industry stakeholders said the strong presence reflects growing global demand for Indian food products and rising export ambitions among domestic brands.

The India Pavilion was inaugurated by Binaya Pradhan, Consul General of India in New York, and Vikas Khanna, Michelin-starred chef. Both highlighted India’s growing influence in global food trade as exporters showcased premium products across multiple categories.

The pavilion brought together exporters, food brands and innovators dealing in basmati rice, spices, ready-to-eat meals, beverages, frozen foods, snacks and organic products.

According to organisers, the North American market for Indian consumer packaged food products presents a long-term opportunity worth $30–50 billion over the next decade. This growing market is being driven by rising consumer interest in global cuisines, premium packaged foods and healthier ingredient-based products.  The pavilion is led by Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority, India Trade Promotion Organisation and All India Rice Exporters Association, all of which are working to strengthen India’s export ecosystem and improve access to international buyers.

Khanna highlighted the human effort behind India’s food economy, stating that every grain, spice and packaged product reflects the livelihoods of millions of Indians across farming, manufacturing, processing and logistics.  As global demand for authentic and convenient ethnic foods continues to rise, India’s participation at international trade platforms is expected to play a vital role in boosting exports and strengthening brand visibility. Industry experts believe sustained engagement with overseas buyers and focused product innovation will help Indian companies scale faster and unlock fresh growth avenues across premium retail and speciality food segments worldwide.

With strong product diversity, improving quality standards and growing international demand, Indian brands are well positioned to capture larger market share, strengthen global recognition and drive long-term export growth across high-value consumer segments worldwide.
