Indian woman killed in Canada, partner held

Toronto: A man has been arrested in Toronto for allegedly killing his Indian partner, seven months after he went on the run. Abdul Ghafoori, 32, was arrested at a Toronto airport on Friday after returning to Canada and charged with first-degree murder, CBC News reported.

Himanshi Khurana, 30, was found dead inside a Toronto house on December 19, 2025. Police determined her death was a homicide and said she was in an intimate partner relationship with Ghafoori.

Cops worked with national and international agencies to facilitate Ghafoori’s return. The Consu­late General of India in Toron­to had expre­ssed grief over Khurana’s death and said it was assisting her family in coordination with local officials.
