Modi to Unveil Mega Projects, Chart BJP’s Telangana Roadmap

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visting Telangana on May 10 (Sunday), his first visit to the state after becoming the PM for the third time. After participating in the 45th anniversary celebrations of the Art of Living in Bengaluru, the Prime Minister will arrive in Hyderabad on Sunday afternoon to lay foundation stones, inaugurate and dedicate multiple development projects worth around Rs 9,400 crore aimed at boosting infrastructure, industrial growth, connectivity, logistics and healthcare in Telangana. Modi will be also addressing the Jana Agraha Sabha at Parade Ground, Secunderabad at 4 pm. Telangana BJP is mobilising a massive gathering of nearly 1 lakh people for this first public meeting of the Modi after the recently Assembly wins in Bengal and Assam.
In Hyderabad, the Prime Minister will launch a series of major infrastructure and industrial initiatives that are expected to accelerate economic development and generate large scale employment opportunities across the state. In Virtual mode, Modi will be launching the various initiatives from HICC, Madhapur at 2.30 pm.
One of the key projects is the foundation stone laying for the four laning of National Highway 167 from Gudebellur to Mahabubnagar on the Hyderabad Panaji Economic Corridor. The project, being developed at a cost of over Rs 3,175 crore, is expected to significantly improve connectivity between Telangana and Karnataka. The upgraded highway will ensure safer and seamless traffic movement, reduce travel time by nearly one and a half hours and lower fuel consumption and vehicle maintenance costs. The project is also expected to strengthen industrial and agricultural connectivity in the region.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the Zaheerabad Industrial Area in Sangareddy district under the Hyderabad Nagpur Industrial Corridor as part of the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme. The industrial township, being developed across 3,245 acres at a cost of over Rs 2,350 crore, is designed as a smart integrated industrial ecosystem with advanced infrastructure and multimodal connectivity. The project is expected to attract investments worth nearly Rs 10,000 crore and create substantial employment opportunities. Key sectors proposed in the industrial area include automobile manufacturing, food processing, machinery, metals and electrical equipment.
Another major highlight of the visit will be the inauguration of the PM MITRA Park at Warangal, also known as the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park. Developed at an estimated cost of around Rs 1,700 crore under the PM MITRA Scheme, the project is India’s first fully functional PM MITRA Park. The textile park has been conceptualised under the Government of India’s “Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign” vision and is expected to create extensive employment opportunities while strengthening the textile value chain in Telangana. The park has world class infrastructure facilities including internal road networks, assured power and water supply and sustainable waste treatment systems.
The Prime Minister will dedicate several railway infrastructure projects worth around Rs 1,535 crore to the nation. These include multiple sections of the Kazipet Vijayawada multi tracking project covering 118 kilometres. The project is expected to enhance railway line capacity, improve freight movement, reduce congestion and ensure faster train operations on the busy Grand Trunk corridor. He will also dedicate the Kazipet Rail Under Rail Bypass, which is aimed at easing congestion at Kazipet Junction and enabling simultaneous train movement towards Hyderabad, Balharshah and Vijayawada.
Prime Minister Modi will also dedicate Indian Oil Corporation’s Greenfield Malkapur Terminal project in Hyderabad to the nation. Developed at a cost of more than Rs 600 crore, the terminal has a storage capacity of 1.65 lakh kilolitres and is expected to strengthen petroleum product handling capacity and energy security in the region.
As part of the healthcare initiatives, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate Sindhu Hospital in Kukatpally-Hitech route in Hyderabad to the nation. The state of the art cancer focused multi super speciality quaternary care institution has been developed as a not for profit facility with 1,500 beds, 29 advanced operation theatres and more than 150 consultation rooms. The hospital will provide advanced treatment facilities across more than 33 super specialities including cancer care, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, bone marrow transplant and critical care services.
A few union ministers, including Nitin Gadkari, Ashwini Vaishnav, G Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay as well as Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy, Dy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, D Sridhar Babu and others will take part in the official programme at HICC, Madhapur.
