Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway (SCR) has advised the concerned officials to focus on intensifying the inspections to ensure safe passage of trains.   SCR GM conducted a detailed review meeting on safety of train operations and ongoing developmental works of the zone at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad on Tuesday.

During the review meeting, the General Manager advised the officials to strictly adhere to the safety rules and procedures. He instructed that regular counseling sessions along with practical demonstrations of safe working practices should be provided to all safety category staff to avoid even the smallest untoward incidents.

He also reviewed the availability of fire prevention safety items like smoke detecting devices, fire extinguishers, over the zone. He advised the officials to ensure adequate stocks to meet any exigency. The General Manager conducted a detailed review on the progress of ongoing developmental works across the zone. The officials submitted a detailed presentation regarding the progress of ongoing station redevelopment works.

He advised the officials to speed up the works as per the planned targets.  He also reviewed the status of Elimination of Level Crossing Gates over the zone and instructed the respective DRMs to take necessary steps for completion.  Arun Kumar Jain held a review on punctuality performance of trains across the zone. He examined the division wise punctuality statistics and instructed the DRMs to identify and monitor the trains which have lost punctuality and take appropriate measures for improving their punctuality.
