The Indian Railways Institute of Signal Engineering and Telecommunications (IRISET), Secunderabad, will celebrate its 68th Annual Day on November 24 at its outdoor auditorium in Tarnaka. ISRO chairman Dr. V. Narayanan will deliver the keynote address, focusing on advancements in railway signalling and future technology integration.
IRISET director general Sharad Kumar Srivastava will inaugurate the programme and present the annual report. South Central Railway general manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava and other senior railway officials will speak on the modernization of signalling and telecom systems.
IRISET, a premier training institute, trains around 5,500 personnel every year and has trained 1.2 lakh professionals so far. It operates 11 specialised laboratories, including facilities for Kavach, OFC communication, and train traffic control. Its Kavach training programme continues to attract officers from India and abroad.
The event includes the release of the technical magazine Gyandeep, academic awards and a cultural programme. A workshop on Kavach technology and cybersecurity will also be held earlier in the day.
