Jagan calls Tirumala laddu allegation ‘political conspiracy’

Former Chief Minister and YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy mounted a frontal attack on Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, dismissing the allegation of adulteration in Tirumala laddu prasadam as utter lies and a blatant political conspiracy that even drags God into their games.

Jagan challenged Naidu to produce concrete evidence that allegedly contaminated ghee ever entered the laddu kitchen. “Did those tankers reach the prasadam section? Do you have a single shred of proof?” he asked, asserting that every ghee tanker is subjected to strict quality checks and laboratory tests before use, and that sub-standard consignments are routinely rejected under a robust, established procedure.

“In such a system, where is the scope for adulteration?” he asked, accusing the Chief Minister of seeking cheap political mileage by casting doubt on a sacred prasadam and hurting devotees’ sentiments for partisan gain.

Turning to agriculture, Jagan said the plight of farmers was so severe that “it has become a ‘Save Andhra Pradesh’ situation.” Farming, which should be a festival, had been turned into a curse, he alleged. He claimed his government treated free crop insurance as a right and paid about Rs 7,800 crore in claims, while the present regime had throttled the scheme, allowed roughly Rs 1,100 crore of input-subsidy dues to pile up and failed to ensure fair prices for any crop.

He accused the government of running a Goebbels-style propaganda blitz, projecting its ‘Super Six’ promises as a super hit when, in reality, unemployment allowance, support for women and farmers, early pensions, Amma Vodi and free gas cylinders exist mostly in advertisements, not in people’s homes.

Jagan further charged that the ruling alliance had manufactured a liquor scam, was misusing SIT probes and a ‘Red Book’ system to hound opposition leaders and journalists, while selectively shielding those close to power.

Accusing Naidu of quietly moving to quash serious corruption cases, including the skill-development and land scams, Jagan said the Chief Minister was acting as accused, investigator and prosecutor rolled into one. He vowed to keep exposing what he called yellow-media propaganda and to fight the government in the courts and among the people.
