The birth anniversary of Babu Jagjivan Ram was observed across the Telugu states with tributes highlighting his contributions to social justice and national politics. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar described him as a towering figure in Indian political history and a true gem of the Dalit community. He recalled that Jagjivan Ram served as a Union Minister for 29 years and remained a Member of Parliament continuously from 1952, the year of India’s first general elections, until his passing in 1986. He paid homage by garlanding the leader’s statue at Mancherial Crossroads in Karimnagar.

In Kamareddy district, the birth anniversary was observed at the SP Office, where Additional SP Narsimha Reddy attended as chief guest and offered floral tributes. At another commemorative event organized by BC Samaj President Sangem Surya Rao at the Media Centre, Downtown Mall, former DGP and National Coordinator J. Purnachandra Rao paid tribute to Jagjivan Ram. He remarked that the vision of political equality championed by B. R. Ambedkar has been weakened by dominant sections of society, adding that such forces also hindered Jagjivan Ram’s chances of becoming Prime Minister.

In Adilabad, District Collector K. Haritha described Jagjivan Ram’s services as highly commendable. She participated in the 119th birth anniversary celebrations organized by the Scheduled Castes Welfare Department and paid floral tributes along with Asifabad MLA Kova Lakshmi and other officials. Speakers noted that Jagjivan Ram dedicated his life to the upliftment of the poor and marginalized, transcending caste and religious barriers. Leaders emphasized the need to carry forward his ideals and implement them meaningfully at the grassroots level.
