Jana Sena Party will contest the upcoming local body elections in constituencies where it has a strong organisational base while continuing to coordinate with its NDA allies, Party Political Affairs Committee Chairman and Andhra Pradesh Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar said on Friday.

Addressing a press conference in Tenali, Manohar said the seat-sharing arrangement adopted for the 2024 Assembly and Lok Sabha elections should not be considered applicable to the local body polls. He said Jana Sena had sacrificed seats in the general elections to prevent the anti-government vote from splitting and to ensure the NDA's victory, in line with party president Pawan Kalyan's vision.

He said the party would provide greater opportunities to its leaders, cadre and women members in areas where Jana Sena enjoys strong grassroots support. The leadership, he added, is assessing local strengths and the aspirations of party workers before finalising its election strategy.

Manohar reaffirmed Jana Sena's commitment to the NDA alliance and said the party would work closely with its partners to ensure success in the local body elections.

He revealed that NDA leaders recently held a coordination meeting and decided to establish district- and parliamentary constituency-level coordination committees to improve cooperation and address local issues.

Seat sharing and candidate selection, he said, would be finalised through consultations among alliance partners based on local political realities and organisational strengths. Emphasising both alliance unity and party growth, Manohar said Jana Sena would contest where it is best placed electorally while ensuring the NDA remains united in the local body polls.
