Under the leadership of EBC JAC national chairman Vallapureddy Ravinder Reddy, representatives of 18 organizations of poor agrarian communities met former minister Kunduru Janardhan Reddy at his Banjara Hills residence on Wednesday. They submitted a memorandum urging the establishment of an EBC Commission, highlighting that 25 percent of the population belongs to agrarian communities, with the majority living in poverty.
The leaders requested that all development and welfare programs implemented for SC, ST, and BC communities in the state also benefit poor agrarian groups. They called for strict laws against attacks or defamation targeting these communities and proposed the creation of an EBC Commission, an EBC Corporation, and an EBC Welfare Department, similar to existing SC/ST Commissions.
Janardhan Reddy assured the leaders that he would raise their demands with senior government officials and support initiatives to address the issues faced by poor agrarian communities.
The EBC leaders also visited Reddy, who is recovering from knee surgery, and wished him a speedy recovery. They honored him with shawls and floral bouquets. Key participants included EBC National President Vallapureddy Ravinder Reddy, Kamma Sangh Federation President Boddu Ravishankar Rao, and leaders from Reddy, Velama, Brahmin, and minority welfare associations.
