‘Job Calendar became Jobless Calendar’

BRS Working President K T  Rama Rao, on Monday, launched a sharp attack on the Congress government in Telangana and the BJP at the Centre, accusing both parties of betraying the aspirations of unemployed youth despite making lofty promises before elections. Describing the Congress government's performance as a "criminal waste," KTR said the promised Job Calendar had turned into a "Jobless Calendar" and alleged that even the calendar presented in the Assembly had become meaningless. He highlighted rising unemployment, student suicides, alleged insults to engineers by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, and demanded that the Assembly be convened for 15 days to hold the government accountable

Expressing concern over the rising frustration among unemployed youth, KTR referred to the recent suicide attempt by a young man in Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka's constituency, saying the youth had questioned the Congress over its unfulfilled employment promises. He appealed to students and unemployed youth not to resort to extreme steps, assuring them that BRS would ensure recruitment to vacant posts when it returns to power.

KTR strongly condemned Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's reported remarks describing engineers as "criminal waste," calling them insulting to lakhs of engineering graduates and professionals working in India and abroad. He questioned Rahul Gandhi's silence on the issue despite projecting himself as a supporter of students and demanded that both Rahul Gandhi and the Chief Minister apologise to the engineering community.

Alleging that the Congress government had failed to fulfil its promise of providing two lakh jobs, KTR claimed that fewer than 10,000 recruitments had been completed in nearly two years. He demanded that the Telangana Assembly be convened for at least 15 days so that the government could be questioned on unemployment, education, and recruitment.

KTR also criticised the government's handling of irrigation, alleging that valuable Godavari waters were being allowed to flow into the sea without being utilised for farmers. He accused the government of neglecting agriculture, misleading people on BC reservations, damaging the IT sector, and targeting BRS leaders through political harassment while attempting to divert attention from its administrative failures.
