Jupally reviews Basara IIIT turmoil

Jupally Krishna Rao, the Minister in-charge of the combined Adilabad district, held a high-level review meeting in Hyderabad on Monday regarding the prevailing situation at Basara Triple IT (RGUKT), the student protests, the subsequent declaration of holidays, and other related matters.

Basara Triple IT Vice-Chancellor Professor Goverdhan and OSD Murali Darshan briefed the Minister on the current conditions within the campus and the underlying reasons behind the students' grievances.

VC Govardhan informed the Minister that, in light of student protests on campus and with a view to maintaining law and order, holidays had to be declared as a precautionary measure.

On the occasion, he brought to the Minister's attention the students' primary demands and the sequence of events that led to the declaration of holidays.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Jupally Krishna Rao observed that the students are highly talented and advised them not to jeopardise their bright future by engaging in protests driven solely by emotion. He clarified that any issues should be resolved through dialogue, and affirmed that the government stands ready to safeguard the interests of the students.
