Senior IAS officer K. Vijayanand formally assumed charge as the Ex-Officio Special Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister at the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat on Monday, shortly after his retirement as the State’s Chief Secretary.

Vijayanand retired from service as Chief Secretary on February 28, following which the State Government appointed him to the newly assigned role to assist the Chief Minister in administrative and governance-related matters. He took charge at the First Block of the State Secretariat amid ceremonial proceedings.

Prior to assuming office, special prayers were conducted, and blessings were offered by Vedic scholars from the Vijayawada Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Devasthanam and the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). The formal assumption of charge took place after the completion of the traditional rituals.

Several senior officials, Secretariat department heads, and representatives of employees’ associations attended the event and extended their congratulations to Vijayanand by presenting bouquets and conveying their best wishes.
