G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Coal and Mines, will dedicate the newly installed facade lighting of Kacheguda Railway Station to the nation. Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager of South Central Railway, along with other senior railway officials, will be present for the event.
Kacheguda Railway Station is one of the major terminals serving Hyderabad’s twin cities, handling an average of 103 trains and welcoming around 45,000 passengers daily. The station, which has completed over 100 years of service, features five platforms equipped with modern passenger amenities and stands as an important part of the Hyderabad Division.
To promote tourism and architectural beauty, the station’s facade has been illuminated at a cost of Rs 2.23 crore. The project was approved by the Ministry of Tourism and executed by the Hyderabad Division of South Central Railway. The lighting highlights the station’s Indo-Saracenic and Indo-Gothic architecture, using vibrant color themes that celebrate local, national, and international occasions.
The installation features the latest outdoor RGB LED luminaires with IP66 ratings and built-in DMX decoders, supporting a 512 DMX control system for dynamic lighting schemes. The lighting system is environmentally safe, designed to prevent light pollution. Surge protection devices and copper plate earthing are installed to protect against voltage spikes, and all fixtures are securely mounted beyond public reach to ensure safety.
