Dy CM directs Pollution Control Board to examine if company complies with rules

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has issued instructions to the Pollution Control Board officials regarding the complaints received against Universal Biofuels Pvt. Ltd. in Kakinada. 

Multiple complaints have been received from the people of the surrounding villages that they are facing severe problems due to the foul smell emanating from the company located in the Vakalapudi Industrial Area of Kakinada.

Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Environment and Forests Pawan Kalyan has responded to this issue. Pollution Control Board (PCB) Chairman Krishnaiah spoke to PCB Kakinada Regional Officer Shankara Rao over the phone. He ordered to examine whether Universal Biofuels company is complying with the pollution control norms or not and submit a report immediately.

Pollution Control Board officials conducted an inspection and initially found that raw materials were being used contrary to the norms. The officials informed that further inspections are being conducted on this.

It had also come to the notice of Pawan Kalyan about the death of rare Olive Ridley turtles in large numbers in the Kakinada Beach Road, APIIC and Vakalapudi areas. He has directed Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & Head of Forest Force Chiranjeevi Chaudhary to investigate the reasons for the death of Olive Ridley turtles, take action against those responsible for this, and conduct a comprehensive study on the measures to be taken for the conservation of wildlife.

Pawan to have Praja Darbar every month

The Andhra Pradesh government is taking steps towards people's governance. Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan will enter the field to understand the problems of the people at the grassroots level. A plan is being made to go among the people in the New Year and take up their problems. Every month, he will choose a district and visit it.

He has directed his department officials to make arrangements to camp in the backward and rural areas of that district. During this visit, he will examine the problems in the district, the condition of the people, the implementation of development and welfare programs. He will interact with the people throughout the day.
