Telangana Jagruti President and BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha unleashed a storm of controversy, accusing BRS leaders T. Harish Rao and Joginapally Santosh Kumar of tarnishing the image of her father, BRS supremo K. Chandrashekar Rao, through alleged corruption and secret deals with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to malign KCR.

Kavitha passionately defended KCR, describing him as a visionary leader who tirelessly worked for Telangana’s welfare, particularly through the Kaleshwaram Project. She dismissed claims of widespread irregularities in the project, arguing that issues like Medigadda are minor and exaggerated to defame KCR. “Kaleshwaram is a monumental asset that will be remembered for 200 years,” she asserted, crediting KCR’s extensive research for securing water for Telangana. Kavitha emphasized KCR’s integrity, stating, “He never chased money or personal gain,” and expressed anguish over the CBI probe into Kaleshwaram, calling it an injustice to a leader of his stature.

She accused Harish Rao, former Irrigation Minister, and Santosh Kumar, along with Megha Krishna Reddy, of amassing wealth through clandestine deals, thus staining KCR’s reputation. “Their actions led to this corruption taint on KCR,” she claimed, noting that Harish Rao was sidelined in KCR’s second term due to these concerns. Kavitha alleged a covert agreement between Harish, Santosh, and Revanth Reddy to shield the duo while targeting KCR.

Despite potential damage to BRS in upcoming elections, Kavitha vowed to speak the truth, rejecting social media trolling and asserting her independence: “I am KCR’s blood, not anyone’s puppet.” She criticized the Congress government’s P.C. Ghosh Commission as a “time-pass” tactic. Kavitha remains confident that KCR will emerge untainted from the CBI probe, likening him to a “washed pearl.”

Expressing her frustration, Kavitha revealed she had endured personal attacks from Harish Rao and Santosh Kumar for months but could no longer remain silent as KCR’s legacy was at stake. “I tolerated their conspiracies, but seeing my father accused of corruption is unbearable,” she said, her voice heavy with emotion. She accused Revanth Reddy of orchestrating a smear campaign against KCR while protecting his alleged allies within BRS. Kavitha also addressed social media trolling, warning, “Those who troll me will face consequences.” She reiterated her commitment to KCR’s vision, vowing to fight for Telangana’s people and expose those undermining the state’s progress.

Kavitha further lambasted the Congress government for its failure to address critical issues like flood relief, accusing it of being unprepared and ineffective. “The government chants KCR’s name constantly but fails to deliver when the state is battered by floods,” she remarked. Kavitha also criticized the government’s inaction on BC reservations, challenging why it hadn’t approached the Supreme Court to address the issue, instead accusing it of sacrificing Telangana’s BC interests for political gains in Bihar’s elections. Kavitha’s remarks have sparked intense debate within BRS, raising questions about internal unity and the party’s future strategy ahead of local body elections.
