5 key committees to enhance the efficiency of AP assembly

To ensure accountability in government promises and commitments, the Committee on Government Assurances has been formed under the leadership of former minister Kamineni Srinivas

In a significant move aimed at streamlining legislative processes, Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Ayannapatrudu has approved the formation of five crucial committees. Each committee comprises a chairman and six members, bringing the total number of legislators in each to seven.

The Rules Committee, responsible for framing and overseeing procedural regulations within the Assembly, will be chaired by Speaker Ayannapatrudu himself. The members of this committee include Amar Nath Reddy, Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, Dharma Raju, Gadde Rammohan, Kala Venkat Rao, and Sujana Chowdary.

The Committee on Petitions, which examines grievances and petitions submitted by citizens and legislators, will be led by Deputy Speaker Raghurama Krishnam Raju. Its members are Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Gurazala Jaganmohan Rao, Konathala Ramakrishna, Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, Palla Srinivasa Rao, and Vishnukumar Raju.

The Privilege Committee, tasked with addressing matters concerning the rights and privileges of legislators, will be chaired by former minister Pitani Satyanarayana. Other members include Aditi Gajapathi Raju, Bandaru Satyananda Rao, Buggala Dastagiri, P. Dharma Raju, Gorantla Buchaiah Chowdary, and Mamidi Govindaraju.

To ensure accountability in government promises and commitments, the Committee on Government Assurances has been formed under the leadership of former minister Kamineni Srinivas. The members of this committee include Amilineni Surendra Babu, Damacharla Janardhan, Giddi Satyanarayana, Julakanti Brahmananda Reddy, Nandyala Varadarajulu Reddy, and K.S.N. Rajulu.

Aimed at upholding ethical standards in the legislature, the Ethics Committee will be chaired by senior leader Mandali Buddharprasad. The committee members include Battula Balaramakrishna, Bhashyam Praveen, Buchepalli Shivaprasad Reddy, Jyothula Nehru, Kotla Jayasuryaprakash Reddy, and Muppidi Venkateshwar Rao.

The establishment of these committees is expected to enhance the efficiency of the legislative assembly by ensuring proper scrutiny of rules, privileges, government assurances, ethical conduct, and public petitions.
