Hyderabad: KIMS Hospitals, in collaboration with the Department of Rehabilitation and KIMS College of Physiotherapy, marked World Physiotherapy Day 2025 with an awareness program focused on healthy ageing and preventing frailty and falls.
The event brought together nearly 200 physiotherapists and allied health students to highlight the vital role physiotherapy plays in promoting strength, balance, and independence in older adults.
Guest speaker Dr. Sudhindra Vooturi, Director of the Centre for Rehabilitation, emphasized the growing need for age-related support, noting that by 2030, over 1.4 billion people will be above 60 years, increasing to 2.1 billion by 2050.
Octogenarian doctors and Directors of Medical Education, Dr. Manimala Rao and Dr. Rajagopal, shared personal insights on ageing gracefully, stressing that how we age significantly affects our health and independence.
