Kishan Reddy reviews Hi-Tech City station redevelopment

G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister for Coal and Mines, inspected the ongoing redevelopment works at Hi-Tech City Railway Station on Friday. He was accompanied by Chevella MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, South Central Railway General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, Secunderabad DRM Dr. R. Gopalakrishnan and other senior officials.

The Minister reviewed progress at the new station building, 12-metre FOB, platforms and circulating areas, and inspected safety measures at the site. Addressing the media, he said rail infrastructure in Telangana is expanding rapidly under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with 40 stations under redevelopment. He highlighted major works including Secunderabad station at Rs. 720 crore, Hyderabad station at Rs. 350 crore and the proposed Kacheguda upgrade. Stations such as Hafeezpet, Hi-Tech City and Malakpet are also set for completion next year.

Hi-Tech City station is being modernised at a cost of Rs. 25.93 crore in Phase I, with Phase II works of Rs. 10 crore to follow. With a daily footfall of 5,400 passengers and 62 suburban services, the station will get a new FOB, lifts, escalators, waiting rooms, ticket counters and Divyangjan facilities. Sixteen festival-season stoppages for Mail/Express trains were also provided. MP Vishweshwar Reddy welcomed the modernisation of four stations in Chevella constituency.
