KTR seeks clarity from CM on Adilabad CCI revival

Bharat Rashtra Samithi Working President K. T. Rama Rao has written an open letter to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy seeking clarity on the Telangana Government's stand regarding the revival of the Cement Corporation of India (CCI) plant at Adilabad, describing it as crucial for the district's industrial growth and the livelihoods of thousands of families.

KTR said a BRS delegation, along with representatives of the CCI Sadhana Samithi, met Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H. D. Kumaraswamy in New Delhi on July 15 to press for the plant's revival. According to KTR, the Union Minister indicated that the project could move forward if the Telangana Government contributed ₹250 crore and submitted the required proposal with its commitment to provide incentives.

Alleging that the Congress government had shown little initiative over the past two and a half years, KTR said the delay was due to the State Government's failure to engage with the Centre or submit the necessary proposals. He reminded the Chief Minister of his election promise to revive the CCI plant and accused the government of not fulfilling its commitment.

Recalling the previous BRS government's efforts, KTR said it had proposed extending TS iPASS incentives, participating in a Centre State joint venture, and even taking over the plant if required.

Seeking immediate clarification, KTR asked the Chief Minister to disclose the government's official stand, proposals submitted to the Centre, whether it is willing to contribute ₹250 crore, extend incentives, join a Centre-State partnership, or pursue an independent revival plan. He also offered to meet the Chief Minister along with the CCI Sadhana Samithi to discuss the issue.
