Andhra Pradesh Education, IT and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh on Tuesday reaffirmed his commitment to transform Mangalagiri into the country’s model constituency, saying the coalition government is steadily fulfilling every promise made to the people. Speaking at the “Mana Illu–Mana Lokesh” programme, he distributed permanent land ownership titles to around 3,000 beneficiaries from Mangalagiri and Tadepalli mandals.
Addressing the gathering, Lokesh described the distribution of land titles as the fulfilment of a key election promise. He said thousands of families had lived for decades without legal ownership of their homes and land, fearing displacement. The newly issued pattas, covering properties valued at nearly ₹1,000 crore, would provide permanent ownership rights and enable beneficiaries to use their land as collateral for bank loans.
Reflecting on his political journey, Lokesh recalled his defeat in the 2019 Assembly election and said it motivated him to build stronger bonds with the people of Mangalagiri. He thanked voters for electing him with one of the highest victory margins in the state in 2024, saying their trust continues to inspire him.
The minister highlighted several development initiatives underway in the constituency, including underground drainage, 24x7 drinking water supply, parks and improved crematorium facilities. He also outlined the coalition government’s welfare measures such as enhanced pensions, Talliki Vandanam, Stree Shakti and Anna Canteens, while acknowledging the state’s financial constraints.
Lokesh said the double-engine government of the NDA at the Centre and the coalition in Andhra Pradesh was accelerating development with support for projects such as Amaravati, Polavaram and the Visakhapatnam Railway Zone. Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for their support, he urged people to continue backing the government as it works to deliver development, welfare and employment opportunities for future generations.
