Ranveer Singh-Don 3 controversy

Actor Ranveer Singh has been banned by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees following Farhan Akhtar’s complaint amid the

ongoing Don 3 row

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) on Monday announced during a press conference that it has banned Ranveer Singh amid the ongoing Don 3 controversy. FWICE Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit stated that actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar and film producer Ritesh Sidhwani had filed a complaint against Ranveer with the Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association. While Sidhwani attended the meeting in person, Akhtar joined via video call.

According to Pandit, they informed the federation about the ongoing issue surrounding Don 3 and Ranveer allegedly exiting the project just three weeks before the shoot. He further revealed that FWICE had invited the actor three times for a personal meeting, but received no response. Later, after the federation announced the press conference, Ranveer reportedly sent an email stating that the matter did not fall under FWICE’s jurisdiction.

FWICE President BN Tiwari later addressed the media and said that the federation has issued a “non-cooperation directive” against Singh. One of the federation members added that from now on, no one associated with film production — including spot boys, directors, cameramen, or lightmen — would work with the actor.

Ranveer was initially set to star in

Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3. However, reports claim that the actor decided to opt out of the film just weeks before shooting was scheduled to begin. Farhan and his business partner Ritesh Sidhwani, who were producing the film under Excel Entertainment, subsequently filed an official complaint with industry bodies against the actor. So far, neither Farhan nor Ranveer has publicly addressed the controversy, and neither has issued any statement regarding FWICE’s decision to ban the actor.
