Ahead of the bye-elections to the 61-Jubilee Hills Assembly Constituency scheduled for November 11, the Hyderabad City Police have issued a series of prohibitory orders to maintain law and order during the polling and counting days.
According to notifications issued by the Commissioner of Police, assembly of persons, rallies, or processions — including mobile publicity — will be prohibited from 6 p.m. on November 9 to 6 p.m. on November 12, and again from 6 a.m. on November 14 to 6 a.m. on November 15. These restrictions are being enforced under relevant sections of the Hyderabad City Police Act, 1348 Fasli.
Additionally, all liquor shops, clubs, hotels, restaurants, and other establishments selling or serving alcohol across Hyderabad and Secunderabad will remain closed from 6 p.m. on November 9 to 6 p.m. on November 11, and again from 6 a.m. on November 14 to 6 a.m. on November 15.
The police have also banned bursting or throwing of firecrackers on public roads and in public places during the counting of votes on November 14, warning that strict action will be taken against violators. These measures aim to ensure peaceful polling and smooth counting in the high-profile Jubilee Hills bye-election.
