Lokesh, Brahmani offer pattu vastras at Mangalagiri Brahmotsavams

The annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy at Mangalagiri are being celebrated with grandeur and devotional fervour, drawing thousands of devotees from across Andhra Pradesh. As part of the festivities, State Minister for IT and Human Resources Development Nara Lokesh, accompanied by his wife Brahmani, participated in the sacred Kalyana Mahotsavam held at midnight on Monday.

The couple attended the celestial wedding ceremony of the presiding deity at 12 midnight and formally presented pattu vastras (silk offerings) to the Lord on behalf of the State government. Temple authorities, members of the trust board, and local leaders extended a ceremonial welcome to the couple upon their arrival at the temple premises.

The Kalyana Mahotsavam, one of the most significant rituals of the annual Brahmotsavams, was conducted amid Vedic chanting and traditional mangala vadhyam. The divine wedding of the deity was performed with elaborate rituals, symbolising prosperity and spiritual harmony. Lokesh and Brahmani participated in the ceremony with devotion and offered prayers for the welfare and prosperity of the State.

Following the ritual, Vedic scholars blessed the couple with special ashirvachanam. The temple town witnessed a festive atmosphere as devotees thronged the premises to witness the auspicious event. Authorities had made elaborate arrangements to manage the heavy footfall and ensure smooth conduct of the celebrations.
