Lokesh calls on Rajnath Singh, seeks defence cluster for AP

IT Minister sought the Centre's cooperation to establish some units in the State against the backdrop of huge investments in the defence sector which will generate large scale employment opportunities for the youth

The Minister for Education, IT and Electronics, Nara Lokesh, who is on a visit to the national capital called on the Union Minister for Defence, Rajnath Singh, at the latter's residence on Wednesday.

On this occasion, Minister Lokesh explained in detail to Rajnath Singh the developmental activities undertaken after the TDP-led NDA came to power in the State. The IT Minister made an appeal to the Union Minister to set up a defence cluster in Andhra Pradesh and sought the Centre's cooperation to establish some units in the State against the backdrop of huge investments in the defence sector which will generate large scale employment opportunities for the youth.

Informing the Union Minister that the State is being brought on track which was in chaos due to the faulty policies adopted by the previous government, Nara Lokesh briefed him how the works in the capital city of Amaravati and Polavaram are moving on a progressive path with the Centre's cooperation. He also thanked Rajnath Singh for the Central assistance and said that the Union Government is helping the State to come out of the crisis created by the previous government which pushed the State into Rs 10 lakh cr debt. 

The minister also said that the TDP-led NDA Government is working hard to take the State towards a developmental path in line with the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi's vision of Vikasitha Bharat. Rajnath Singh promised to extend his cooperation for the development of Andhra Pradesh.
