Nara Lokesh has reaffirmed his commitment to stand firmly with every party worker, declaring that “TDP is one family and no worker will ever be left alone in times of crisis.”
The IT and Education Minister on Thursday met the family of Namburi Sheshagiri Rao, the Telugu Desam Party activist from Palnadu district who passed away two months ago following a heart attack, months after being brutally attacked during the 2024 elections. Lokesh personally assured his wife Krishnaveni, son, and daughter that the party would fully support them, taking personal responsibility for their welfare.
The meeting took place at Lokesh’s residence in Undavalli. “Sheshagiri Rao’s courage during one of the most crucial moments of the election was exemplary. His commitment is an inspiration to every TDP worker,” Lokesh said after meeting the family. “We will stand by him in death as he stood by the party in life. I personally take responsibility for his family’s well-being.”
During the 2024 general elections, at the Palvaigate polling station in Macherla constituency, YSRCP candidate Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy allegedly attempted to damage an EVM. Serving as a polling agent at the time, Sheshagiri Rao bravely intervened to stop the act. He was then attacked by YSRCP workers and sustained serious injuries. Months later, he suffered a fatal heart attack.
“Sheshagiri Rao fought fearlessly during the Palvaigate incident and stood firm to protect democracy,” Lokesh said. “His bravery is a source of inspiration for every TDP worker. We are not just a political party, we are a family, and we will support his loved ones in every possible way.”
Lokesh spent time with the grieving family, offering comfort and reassurance. The minister’s gesture was widely seen as a strong message to party workers across the state that their dedication will never go unnoticed.
