Metro India News | Hyderabad

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has announced a planned 16-hour interruption in drinking water supply on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. This disruption is due to essential pipeline junction works on the major 1143/700 mm and 1050/600 mm dia pipelines that carry water from Lingampally to the Sanathnagar reservoir.

According to officials, the work will be carried out from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., during which water supply will be either completely shut off or delivered at low pressure in several parts of the city. The maintenance activity is part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades to ensure long-term reliability of water distribution in the region.

The affected areas fall under two key divisions of the water board. Under O&M Division-IX, neighborhoods such as Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, NTR Nagar, Prashant Nagar, Balanagar, Kaithlapur, Chaitanya Basti, Fateh Nagar, LB Nagar, and Sathya Sai Nagar will experience the outage. Similarly, under O&M Division-VI, areas including DNM Colony, Ashok Colony, Allauddin Koti, BJR Nagar, Suprabhat Nagar, and Neemkar Nagar will also face interruptions.

HMWSSB has requested residents in these localities to store sufficient drinking water in advance and use it sparingly during the affected hours. The board also urged the public to cooperate while these essential maintenance activities are undertaken.
