Musharraf Faruqui, Chairman and Managing Director of the Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TSSPDCL), announced that the organization is committed to achieving the goal of zero power interruptions. To this end, TSSPDCL has issued directives to Superintending Engineers to conduct comprehensive inspections of the Low Tension (LT) network, focusing on distribution transformers, and to undertake a targeted drive to address any identified faults.

As part of this initiative, CMD Faruqui, accompanied by Director of Operations Dr. Narsimhulu, conducted field inspections on Tuesday morning within various bastis and narrow lanes in the Gymkhana Section of the Secunderabad Circle, covering approximately five kilometers on foot. During these visits, the officials interacted with local consumers and examined the LT infrastructure. The CMD identified issues including dangling wires, jointed cables, and uninsulated HG fuse sets, instructing the electricity officials to rectify these problems by the evening and to provide photographic evidence of the completed work.

The CMD directed Assistant Engineers and other section officers to initiate pole-to-pole inspections across the LT network area-wise from 8 am, with a mandate to rectify any faults discovered during these inspections. He remarked that ongoing efforts by electricity engineers and staff have substantially reduced issues within the 33 kV and 11 kV networks. However, power disruptions still occasionally occur when falling tree branches during heavy winds or rains damage overhead lines. These situations are being addressed promptly.

Faruqui emphasized that until the completion of this special drive, he would personally conduct surprise field inspections on a daily or alternate-day basis to ensure systematic progress. The inspection was attended by Dr. Narsimhulu, Chief Engineer (Metro) Prabhakar, Secunderabad Superintending Engineer Gopaiah, Deputy Engineer Subba Reddy, and other senior officials.
