The Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to complete the DPRs (Detailed Project Reports) for Future City, Shamirpet and Medchal metro routes by March-end. The CM suggested that the DPRs of the three new Metro routes should be sent for approval by the Central government and desired that tenders be called for by April-end.

During a high-level review meeting on metro expansion, radial road construction, and elevated corridors on Tuesday evening, the CM emphasized the need for swift progress and future-ready infrastructure paving the way for a transformative urban mobility landscape in Hyderabad.

The CM directed immediate land acquisition for metro routes and stressed the importance of detailed field studies for alignment planning. He highlighted the need for modern infrastructure to meet the future demands of Hyderabad’s growing population while ensuring connectivity with key places like the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.

Further, he told officials that a state-of-the-art junction has to be set up at the starting point of the Shamirpet-Medchal metros to cater to future needs and provide comprehensive facilities, reducing the need for people coming from districts to travel to the city center.

CM emphasized on construction of radial roads under Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited (HGCL) and elevated corridors with works to commence promptly, with alignment designed to integrate seamlessly with existing NH flyovers on the Medchal route.

The meeting was attended by senior officials, including the Chief Minister’s Advisors Vem Narender Reddy and Srinivasa Raju, Principal Secretary Dana Kishore, Hyderabad Metro Rail MD NVS Reddy, HMDA Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed, and others.
