Hyderabad: Graduate MLC Teenmar Mallanna raised several public concerns in the Telangana Legislative Council, focusing on workers’ welfare, education, and social justice.

Acknowledging the benefits of the free bus scheme for women, he highlighted hardships faced by RTC drivers and conductors, demanded release of pending PRCs, suggested merging RTC with the government, and urged including auto drivers. He questioned why workers should bear the burden if travel is free.

Mallanna also addressed journalists’ rights, opposing categorization into field and desk, and called for accreditation cards, job security, and financial protection. He highlighted delays in appointment letters for over 3,000 VRAs and raised concerns of meter reading workers, demanding full workdays and job stability.

On education, he pointed out issues at Kakatiya University affecting professors, contract staff, and students, calling for immediate development measures. He criticized the outsourcing system, demanding an end to commission cuts, abolition of middle agencies, and direct salary payments.

The MLC urged proper utilization of funds for sanitary pads and school toilets, demanded implementation of the BC Sub-Plan, and alleged misuse of Rs. 1 lakh crore public funds without Assembly approval, seeking investigation. He stressed that governance should ensure transparency, protect workers, and uphold social justice, not just announce schemes.
