Amid reports circulating in various media outlets suggesting malfunctioning gates at the Manjeera Barrage—one of Hyderabad’s key drinking water sources—officials from the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) conducted an inspection and dismissed the claims.
Authorities confirmed that all gates are operating smoothly and remain in optimal working condition. Currently, water is being released through two crest gates and one scour vent at a rate of 15,130 cusecs.
Additionally, inflow from Singur stands at 9,226 cusecs. From August 13 to 6:00 a.m. today, an average discharge of 46,000 cusecs has been maintained, totaling 28.09 TMC released without any interruptions. Officials emphasized that there is no threat to the barrage or its gates, assuring the public of continued safe and stable water supply operations.
