Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Sunday urged the Telugu film industry to improve working conditions, take care of welfare of the workers and assured that the state government would extend its total support to the well being of the industry.
Speaking with several Telugu film directors, producers at his residence, Revanth Reddy said that since the government felt that there should not be any issue in the film industry, he has decided to invite representatives of the film workers and resolve the on going issue. He also advised the film fraternity to take measures to improve the quality of cine production and upgrade the skills of the technicians and the new comers. In this context, he suggested a Corpus Fund should be created for the purpose. He also assured that required arrangements will be made in the Skills University for the film industry.
Stating that the Telugu film industry has attained international status, Revanth said that for Telangana state, film industry is a key sector.He also reminded them that he had taken an initiative to resolve the workers issue and advised the film producers to deal with the workers with humanity. He also stressed the need for reforms with regard to film producers and workers issue. The CM also emphasised the need for the government, producers and workers to come out with a comprehensive policy. He felt that there is a need for monitoring of the film industry. “Let us write a new book on what the film industry needs,” he said.
