5,000 devotees come together for Bhagavad Gita victory celebration

The streets of Manthani reverberated with chants of Hare Rama, Hare Krishna as more than 5,000 devotees from different regions of Telangana took out a procession marking the grand Bhagavad Gita Victory Procession on Sunday.  

Devotional procession organized jointly by Telangana Sanatana Dharma Prachara Samiti and Sri Sitarama Seva Sadan. A large-scale collective recitation program was held at Shiva Kiran Gardens.

Telangana State IT and Legislative Affairs Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, attended as the chief guest, praised the event as an unprecedented spiritual achievement. He highlighted that for 665 consecutive days, Bhagavad Gita recitations took place in 665 households in the sacred town of Manthani, a significant milestone. He expressed gratitude to all devotees who participated in it and distributed mementos to them. Swamis and spiritual leaders who attended were honored with shawls.

He emphasized the responsibility of every individual to uphold dharma and revere the Bhagavad Gita in Sanatana society. He extended his gratitude to the International World Book of Records for recognizing this remarkable feat. The minister remarked that Lord Krishna has provided answers to all questions through the Bhagavad Gita and expressed appreciation to devotees who traveled from all corners of Telangana.

Officials from the International Wonder Book of World Records attended the event, observed the proceedings, and officially recorded the achievement. Prominent speakers at the event included Acharya Kasireddy Venkata Reddy and guest C L Vijaya Rajam, along with several other orators. Eight revered swamis addressed the devotees, elaborating on the greatness of the Bhagavad Gita.
