Union Minister G Kishan Reddy accused Tamil Nadu's ruling DMK of spreading false propaganda about delimitation and Hindi imposition to divert attention from the 'liquor scam' allegations ahead of the state assembly elections.

Reddy asserted that BJP is poised to gain power in Karnataka and Telangana, alleging that parties attending Tamil Nadu CM M K Stalin’s Chennai meeting on delimitation aim to hinder BJP’s southern expansion. He dismissed their claims that southern states would suffer due to constituency delimitation, stating that neither the BJP nor the central government has discussed the issue.

“It makes sense to hold meetings when a discussion is underway, but currently, no such debate exists. This is pure propaganda ahead of Tamil Nadu elections,” said Reddy, who is also the Telangana BJP president. Criticizing DMK, he claimed Tamil Nadu has been under a corrupt family rule for the past four years. He alleged that Stalin is attempting to deflect attention from the liquor scam by raising issues of language and delimitation.

Reddy emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to the development of all states without discrimination. He accused the Chennai meeting attendees of pushing selfish agendas and reviving non-existent concerns, just as they falsely campaigned before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections that BJP would alter the Constitution. He reassured the southern states that delimitation and census would be addressed in due course, with justice ensured for all.

The delimitation process would follow the national census, which itself would take a year. Describing the Chennai meeting as a "Congress-led drama" with Stalin at the forefront, Reddy claimed BRS leader K T Rama Rao (KTR) also played a key role. He pointed out that Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy and state Congress president B Mahesh Kumar Goud represented Congress, while KTR attended on behalf of BRS, highlighting what he called the “old bond” between the two parties.
