Greater Hyderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi has directed officials to make immediate arrangements for the inauguration of completed development works across the GHMC limits. She stressed that local corporators and public representatives must be mandatorily involved in all inauguration programmes and instructed officials to expedite the completion of pending works without delay.

The directions were issued during the 11th General Standing Committee meeting held on Thursday at the GHMC headquarters Command Control Room, chaired by Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi. The Standing Committee approved 21 agenda items (Serial Nos. 1–21) and 23 supplementary agenda items (Serial Nos. 22–44). Additionally, eight table items were introduced, of which six were approved by the committee, while two were recommended for Council approval.

Key approvals included administrative sanctions for major infrastructure projects such as stormwater drains, sewerage networks, road widening and development works, bridge and flyover renovations, drainage remodeling, and construction of health, sports, and civic facilities. The committee also cleared proposals related to promotions and appointments of GHMC staff, extension of CSR-based skilling and maintenance programmes, GIS and HRM application development, biometric attendance systems, revenue and expenditure reports, and leasing or re-allotment of municipal properties.

Several table items of significance were placed before the committee. These included proposals to install a statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Barkatpura Junction and to name a road near Bairamalguda Flyover after late Vanga Madhusudan Reddy, both recommended for Council approval. Proposals for new flyovers, grade separators, ROBs, circle and ward office buildings, and major junction improvements were also discussed, with administrative approvals and ratifications accorded where required.

The meeting was attended by GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan, Standing Committee members, Additional Commissioners, Zonal Commissioners, senior engineering officials, and other department heads, reflecting coordinated efforts to accelerate urban development and civic governance across Greater Hyderabad.
