Medicover Woman & Child Hospitals joined the nationwide Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Day initiative organized by the National Neonatology Forum (NNF) India on May 10, conducting large-scale skill training sessions to strengthen newborn survival.

Led by Dr. Ravinder Reddy, Senior Pediatrician & Neonatal Care Specialist, and Dr. Navitha, Consultant Neonatologist, the program emphasized the critical “golden minutes” after birth. Nearly 20,000 healthcare providers across India were trained through 998 synchronized courses, making this one of the country’s largest coordinated healthcare skill-building efforts.

Dr. Reddy highlighted that every trained healthcare provider becomes a lifesaver in critical moments, noting the importance of extending these skills to both urban and rural systems to reduce preventable neonatal deaths. Dr. Navitha stressed that timely resuscitation can save countless lives, reaffirming the hospital’s commitment to empowering professionals with practical, evidence-based techniques.

Newborn mortality due to breathing difficulties remains a major public health challenge in India. By offering free, hands-on training, Medicover Woman & Child Hospitals contributed to Telangana’s participation in this national mission, supporting NNF India’s vision that no newborn should lose life due to lack of timely resuscitation. This initiative marks a transformational step in advancing maternal and child healthcare, ensuring healthier beginnings for thousands of babies across the country.
