Mulugu District Superintendent of Police Sudhir Ramnath Khekan announced on Monday that Volleyball Tournaments would be organized across all mandal headquarters in the district. The initiative aims to keep youth away from drugs and narcotics while raising awareness on road safety norms. As part of this program, a Volleyball Tournament was inaugurated in Mulugu mandal headquarters under the supervision of Mulugu DSP. DSP Ravinder welcomed the SP by presenting a plant sapling.

SP Sudhir Ramnath Khekan addressing the gathering, announced plans to conduct sports meets, job melas and training programs for unemployed youth. He said that Minister Danasari Seethakka Anasuya would be invited to give away prizes at the district finals. As part of the state government’s prestigious 99-day program, the SP said “Arrive Alive” road safety awareness sessions would also be conducted. He strongly advised wearing helmets while riding two-wheelers, avoiding over-speeding and rash driving, and strictly prohibiting drunk and drive.

SP declared that the biggest challenge before Mulugu district now is drug menace. He called upon the youth, parents and village elders to take collective responsibility to make villages drug-free and report any information about drug use or trafficking to the police. Regarding cyber crimes, he advised people not to attend calls from unknown numbers or share OTPs and passwords. In case of “digital arrest” threats or any cyber fraud, people should immediately complain at the nearest police station or call 1930. He urged every youth present to spread this awareness to their family members and friends.
