Medicover Hospitals organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program titled ‘Brain Death and Organ Donation: Clinical, Ethical and Legal Perspectives’ in the city on Friday.

The CME was inaugurated by Dr. Ganshyam Jagathkar, Director of Critical Care at Medicover Hospitals, who emphasized the importance of bridging the gap between clinical knowledge and public awareness.

The keynote address was delivered by Lalitha Raghuram, Country Director of the MOHAN Foundation, who passionately advocated for increasing awareness around organ donation and clearing common misconceptions that deter potential donors.

The CME highlighted that understanding brain death is not just a clinical necessity, it is a societal need. The discussions demystified complex topics for the medical fraternity while underlining the core message to the public: Organ donation is an act of hope, and every brain-dead individual has the potential to save multiple lives.

Hari Krishna, Executive Director, Medicover Hospitals, stated, ‘Our aim is not only to equip doctors with best practices but also to empower the common man with the knowledge to make informed, life-giving decisions.’
