The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team at Medicover Hospitals, Secunderabad, treated a premature baby boy delivered at just 25 weeks and 3 days of gestation, weighing only 816 grams, making him an extremely preterm infant. During pregnancy, the mother developed several high-risk complications, including Preterm Premature Rupture of Membranes (PPROM) and a urinary tract infection (UTI). Soon after birth, the baby developed severe respiratory distress and was immediately admitted to the NICU, where he received comprehensive advanced neonatal care.

The baby recovered successfully without major complications, is now healthy, steadily gaining weight, and achieving normal developmental milestones.  Dr. Deepa Dharanappa Shetty, Senior Neonatologist & Pediatrician stated that the achievement reflects the combined efforts of experienced multidisciplinary team, state-of-the-art neonatal infrastructure, the importance of breast milk, Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC), and the unwavering commitment of the baby's parents.
