Andhra Pradesh Revenue Minister Anagani Satyaprasad reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to conducting a transparent and comprehensive land survey aimed at eradicating illegal activities and irregularities.

Speaking at a regional revenue conference held at the Visakhapatnam Collectorate on Tuesday, the minister addressed a gathering that included district collectors, joint collectors, MLAs, and MLCs from the Uttarandhra region. The conference focused on reviewing 12 crucial administrative issues related to the Revenue Department.

During the press briefing, Satyaprasad took jab at the previous YSRCP government, alleging that the land resurvey conducted during their tenure under central government guidelines was flawed and lacked transparency. He accused a few political representatives and leaders from the previous tenure of manipulating the resurvey process for personal benefit. The minister revealed that the current government had received a staggering 98,000 complaints concerning land irregularities, affecting a total of four lakh acres across the state.

Anagani Satyaprasad further disclosed that revenue conferences had already been held in 6,680 villages, exposing widespread discrepancies related to freehold lands. He assured the public that the state government would undertake impartial investigations into these irregularities and implement corrective measures to resolve them. The minister also mentioned that numerous complaints had surfaced regarding officials allegedly involved in land encroachments and manipulation of land records, particularly in Visakhapatnam. He promised stringent action against officials found guilty after a thorough and transparent inquiry.

In a significant announcement, the minister introduced plans to streamline the clearing of land encumbrances and provide digital land records to ensure transparency. Under the “Mee Bhoomi – Mee Hakku” initiative, he explained that revenue records were being fully digitized to eliminate land disputes, enhance accessibility, and secure ownership rights for landowners.
