Andhra Pradesh Roads, Buildings, Investments and Infrastructure Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy has directed officials to ensure uninterrupted travel for commuters following the collapse of a culvert on the Kadapa–Badvel road in the Lankamala forest region.

Responding promptly to the incident, the minister instructed the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department to prepare an alternative route without delay. He emphasised that the temporary road should be suitable for heavy vehicles as well, and that construction must be completed on a war footing.

According to officials, work on the alternate route has already commenced. Jungle clearance and road levelling have been completed, allowing for faster progress on the diversion.

At the same time, Minister Janardhan Reddy directed engineers to expedite the reconstruction of the damaged culvert. He asked them to prepare fresh proposals for the project and submit them to the government for approval, with the goal of completing the structure as quickly as possible.

The culvert collapse had threatened to disrupt vehicular movement between Kadapa and Badvel, a vital link for local residents and transport operators. With the alternative route now underway, officials expect minimal inconvenience to travellers until the main route is restored.
