Telangana Transport Minister and Hyderabad district in-charge Ponnam Prabhakar directed officials to ensure citizens face no hardships during the monsoon. At a review meeting held at GHMC headquarters on Sunday, he emphasized coordinated efforts across departments including GHMC, HMWSSB, HYDRA, Traffic, Electricity, Irrigation, and Revenue. The meeting focused on seasonal diseases, flood management, and road safety. GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan presented updates on stormwater drains, road repairs, and catchpit works. HMWSSB MD Ashok Reddy outlined plans to separate sewer and stormwater lines to prevent overflows.

The minister stressed the importance of real-time coordination and asked GHMC to lead liaison efforts. He instructed departments to cancel leaves and remain alert. He warned of strict action against dumping construction waste in lakes and drains.

Highlighting rainwater harvesting as a civic duty, he urged citizens to support water conservation and adopt soak pits. He called for public awareness and enforcement where necessary.

Later, addressing the media, Prabhakar said the government is committed to preventing flood-related disruptions. He acknowledged traffic issues due to sudden heavy rains and said a master plan is being developed for long-term flood and traffic solutions.

Officials including HYDRA Commissioner AV Ranganath and Joint CP Traffic Joel Davis participated in the meeting. The minister assured 24/7 availability and urged citizens to report issues for prompt resolution.
