Ministers’ panel holds meeting on employees’ issues at AP Secretariat

A high-level meeting of the Group of Ministers (GoM) was held at the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat on Saturday to discuss pending issues concerning state government employees. The meeting, chaired by Ministers Payyavula Keshav (Finance), Nadendla Manohar (Civil Supplies), and Satya Kumar Yadav (Health), focused on long-standing demands such as pending Dearness Allowances (DA) and other service-related matters.

Speaking at the meeting, Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is deeply concerned and positive about resolving employees’ issues with a humanitarian approach. Despite the state’s financial constraints, the government recognizes employees as vital partners in governance and is taking all necessary steps to address their grievances, he added.

Minister Nadendla Manohar informed that the Chief Minister had already held a detailed three-hour discussion with the GoM and senior officials on Friday, reviewing all major employee-related issues. Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav said that although the state faces fiscal challenges, the Chief Minister has directed officials to give top priority to resolving employees’ concerns.

Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand said the government has been actively working toward practical solutions. Following the recent Joint Staff Council (JSC) meeting, the GoM’s interaction aimed to gather further feedback from employee unions ahead of the Chief Minister’s special review meeting scheduled for Friday evening at his camp office.

Top bureaucrats including S.S. Rawat (Special Chief Secretary, Services), Piyush Kumar (Finance), Shashi Bhushan Kumar (PR & RD), Dwaraka Tirumala Rao (RTC MD), K. Bhaskar (IT), Vinay Chand (Finance), Veerapandian (Health Commissioner), and G. Sampath Kumar (CDMA) attended.

Recognized employee unions such as the AP NGOs Association, Secretariat Employees Association, Revenue Services Association, Teachers’ Unions, Cooperative Services Association, Drivers’ Association, and Pensioners’ Associations were also represented, with their leaders including A. Vidyasagar, U. Manohar, Bopparaju Venkateswarlu, Sai Srinivas, M. Krishnaiah, N. Venkateswarlu, G. Hridayaraju, and K.R. Suryanarayana.
