Minister Lokesh to visit Australia

To explore educational, industrial, and investment collaborations

Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education, IT, and Electronics, Nara Lokesh, will embark on a six-day official visit to Australia from October 19 to 24 as part of the Australian Government’s Special Visits Program. The invitation was extended by Australia’s High Commissioner to India, Philip Green, appreciating Andhra Pradesh’s leadership in human resource development, technology, and economic progress.

During the visit, Minister Lokesh will study advanced teaching methodologies at leading Australian universities and participate in a series of roadshows promoting the upcoming CII Partnership Summit 2025, to be held in Visakhapatnam on November 14 and 15.

Lokesh will arrive in Sydney at 11:30 a.m. (local time) on October 19. Later that evening, he will address the Telugu diaspora at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The next morning, he will visit the University of New South Wales (UNSW) to explore innovative educational models, followed by a meeting with Members of Parliament and business executives at the Business Council of Australia. In the afternoon, he will tour the TAFE NSW Ultimo campus with Australian Skills and Training Minister Andrew Giles and later join the CII Partnership Summit roadshow at the NSW Parliament grounds.

On October 21, Lokesh will attend the Australia-India Relations (CIAR) meeting on aquaculture hosted by Seafood Industry Australia in Parramatta, followed by an interaction with agricultural technology experts at Western Sydney University. He will also meet New South Wales Ministers for Innovation, Science & Technology, and Skills & Higher Education.

The minister’s itinerary includes visits to Griffith University (Gold Coast) and the Queensland Trade and Investment Roundtable in Brisbane on October 22, where he will discuss opportunities in advanced sports infrastructure. On October 23, he will tour the University of Melbourne and meet Victorian Ministers for Skills, Economic Growth, and Jobs. He will also visit the renowned Yarra Valley wine region for discussions with the Treasury Wines Estates leadership team.

Concluding his visit on October 24, Lokesh will participate in an International Education Roundtable organized by Austrade in Melbourne and attend the CII–AIBC Investment Roadshow at the Grand Hyatt. He will later tour the Melbourne Cricket Ground to study sports technology and infrastructure before returning to India on the night of October 24, reaching Hyderabad on October 25.
